Opel/Vauxhall has announced a new compact SUV, the Mokka, which sits between the Nissans Juke and Qashqai in terms of size, measuring 4280mm in length. The Mokka's exterior design continues the form language of the current GM Europe range with its drawn-back lamps, tapered DLO and sculptural rocker surfacing. Nissan - the Renault Nissan Alliance - has confirmed plans for car battery production in the UK and Portugal
The aim of the battery production plants is to supply batteries for electric cars built by the Renault Nissan alliance, but Nissan haven’t actually said that they will build any electric cars in the UK. Hmm. The target production is 60,000 annually to be used in a range of Nissan and Renault electric cars that will start to hit the market next year (2010) – in the US and Japan – with full global roll-out by 2010.
As Saab Automobile struggles to get back on its feet, Spyker Cars NV announced Wednesday that its chief financial officer plans to resign. Hans Go will step down as statutory director of Spyker effective July 1, Spyker said in a statement today. Saab production restarted last Friday after it received financial assistance from its new China partner, Pang Da.
